Program Description

Graduate Certificate in Environmental Education and Communication

The Graduate Certificate in Environmental Education and Communication is a leadership program that focuses on developing the competency and skill of educators and communicators who have an interest in, or responsibility for presenting environmental information to audiences.

This interdisciplinary program will build theoretical and practical knowledge and skills. The program will provide solid grounding in environmental studies and sustainability, learning theory, environmental education, educational program development, philosophical and cultural analysis, journalism and communications.

The program complements, and builds on expertise in related degree programs at Royal Roads University in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Conflict Analysis & Management, and Leadership.

This program is laddered, which allows individuals to complete a graduate certificate, graduate diploma, or full master's degree.

Students have the option of a graduate certificate upon successful completion of a residency and one distance-based semester (approximately five months) or a graduate diploma upon successful completion of two residences and two distance-based semesters (approximately one year). Learn more...
